FAQ · For Families
How do I choose a doula?
Choose a doula who communicates well, supports the birth experience you want, and is available around your due date. Meet a few doulas, ask questions, and trust how you feel in the conversation. The right doula is someone you feel comfortable with and confident in.
Start with availability
Before anything else, confirm the doula is available around your due date and has backup coverage if needed. A great doula who is not available is not the right choice.
Meet more than one
Interview two or three doulas if you can. Each conversation teaches you what you want and helps you compare communication styles, experience, and approach.
Ask about your priorities
Ask about comfort measures, experience with your birth location, how they handle plan changes, and how they support partners. Their answers should match what matters most to you.
Trust the feeling
Birth is intimate, and comfort matters. Beyond credentials and answers, notice how the doula makes you feel. You want someone you can be open with through a vulnerable experience.
